Sr. Jennah, I’m a revert to Islam and I believe I was always a Muslim, I only needed to find my path. I was born, after all, with ‘fitrah’ (innate nature) and so it was natural for me to eventually find Islam if I could see the light of truth, which I did.
Assalaamu Álaykum

My Islamic name is Jennah and I am a Muslim.

My spiritual journey thus far has been a challenge but also very rewarding. My whole life I felt a building towards something until finally discovering Islam. The more I found out about Islam the more I knew I had found my path.

I was introduced to Islam while playing an on-line game over the net. I met a young Muslim man, from England, while playing this game. He was the first Muslim I had ever met in my life. I was so impressed by how polite and helpful he was. I was curious so I asked questions about his faith. He was very resourceful and he encouraged me to learn more. He provided me with links and audio and video files. He was always very kind and positive about my study.

To start I read about all the various Muslim sects. I bought/borrowed one book after another as I could not seem to quench my thirst for knowledge of Islam. I also read all about the Prophet(saw) and Khadija and all the decedents, the ahlulbayt. I read about the caliphs and the 14 infallibles. I spent time reading the history of Arabia, the tribes, the battles. I started an on-line Islamic study course. I absorbed as much as I could as often as I could.

My life began to change...I had an epiphany when I purchased my first English translated Qur’an. When I looked down at the Qur’an, time seemed to stand still; as I recalled a recurring dream I had my whole life. In the dream I'm reaching out for a large old book resting open on a table. When I reach the book I cannot read the pages and something seemed to always be pulling me back. The dream always left me frustrated. However, on this day when I looked down at the Qur'an I realized that the book I had dreamt about my whole life was the book I held in my hands and I knew this was a sign from the creator.

I became very focused. I knew I was on the verge of becoming a Muslim but the decision was difficult it was a complete changing of my life and for the non-Muslims in my life. After much contemplation and spiritual guidance I preformed my shahada at home.

Once I was a Muslim I knew that I was not only to submit to Allah(swt) but I must also give back to Islam in as many ways as possible. The more of Allah (swt) I found in my heart, the more life began to change for me and my involvement with Islam. New people were coming into my life and they were filled with hope for Islam as I was. I worked/work on Islamic web-sties doing web and graphic design and various art jobs . I am an artist so I have taken some study in Islamic artwork and I have begun to create series of artwork that Inshallah will help bring attention to Islam.

I study Islam as much as I can so that I can better articulate my views on the subject. I have even begun to try to learn to speak the Arabic language.

'Baseerah' is knowledge. So the caller is certain to face those who are scholars of misguidance, those who will attack him with doubts and futile arguments in order to rebut the truth.

Allah, the most high says:

and argue with them in a way that is better.

(soorah an-Nahl 16:125]

When researching I did not find a lot of sites that fit all of my needs as a revert. I wanted a place where I could find it all in one. This is when I began to think about creating ' 'RevertMuslims.com'. I felt there was a need for an uplifting and encouraging and resourceful site for new reverts. A place to learn the truth about Isalm in a comfortable setting. A place where you can learn the fundamentals of Islam, to learn how to pray, to live as a Muslim should live on a daily basis.

InshaAllah I will continue to meet the needs of reverts to
Islam.

I do my best to be a good Muslim, a good human being. I do my best to give back as Allah(swt) has given me so much in my life. My goal is to work for Islam as much as possible in an effort to bring unity and understanding.

Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatu Allahi Wa Barakatoh

Sister Jennah

Sayed Nafe is a student, living with his family in the UK, studying to become a graphic designer.

A talented artist Nafe has created many series of art that help to spread the message of Islam. (see one of Nafe's pieces of artwork...>>> here) Nafe’s original roots are Iraqi and he immigrated with his family to the UK as a young child.Nafe spends most of his free time helping out as co/Administrator/founder and creator of the Revert Muslim website and forum and we are grateful for all his support. He also enjoys gaming and can be found battling Hordes on World of Warcraft. An avid football (soccer) player and taikwondo fighter he is always up for athletic sport.

His iman is growing daily and he is thankful to have rediscovered his roots in Islam. He spends a lot of time learning about Islam and keeping up with lectures by Sayed Moustafa Al-Qazwini and others.. He is a strong supporter of women’s rights within Islam and will rally to their plight. He’s a respectful young man with a bright future in dawah work and a successful career as a graphic artist. We at ‘Revert Muslims’ encourage and support him.

Sister Aminah grew up in a Catholic family with close roots to Islam as her Mother’s side of the family was a mix of Catholic and Muslim. Her family was strict in their faith and had a great deal of respect for other religions.
Because of this strong belief system already in place Aminah has always felt a closeness to Allah(swt) and her conversion into Islam was an easy decision to make. Aminah, took study of Islam early on and began to read the Quran at the age of 16. At the age of 32 she recited her shahada and became a Muslim. Alhamdulillah!
Sister Aminah has had the opportunity to do much travel in her life and has almost made it around the globe on her treks. This sister is a wealth of knowledge and a great source for finding relevant information to post on threads on the Revert Muslim forum. We are always amazed by how much time and effort Aminah puts into Revert Muslims.

Aminah lives in Denmark and spends most of her time in activities that involve dawah work. This young grandmother, Maa shaa Allah, also loves to cook in fact she holds degrees as a cook and can dish out the best Rice with Lamb Casserole you’ll ever eat! (You can find her recipes on our Revert Muslim forum)..

Aminah has devoted her life to serving God and we are very thankful to have her join us at Revert Muslims as our Global Moderator.

Sister Amal comes to us with lot's of artistic talent and a great love for Islam. Amal lives in New York and is 21 years of age. Amal found Islam in 2004 after meeting her husband.

Amal's husband's love and devotion to Allah(swt) and his peace of mind inspired her to look into Islam. After much study Amal came to realize that Islam was the 'true religion' and the right path to follow.Amal became a revert to Islam and her life since then has changed completely. Sister Amal came to realize, as so many reverts can relate, that reverts go through much change mentally, emotionally and spiritually. There are many stages and to find support among those who truly understand is very helpful for most reverts.

Unfortunately sister Amal found there was little support available to Reverts until finding the RMA (Revert Muslims Association) website and forum As Amal puts it 'I enthusiastically signed up!'. We at Revert Muslims are more then pleased to have her join us and we offer her our on-going enthusiasm and support with all her endeavors.

Sister Natalie was born and raised in a Catholic family, in West Virginia.

Though her family was not very religious, the children did attend Catholic schools through 6th grade, and weekly Catechism after that, through high school. Natalie always wondered about the nature of the creation, and used to pester her parents and teachers endlessly with questions.Upon graduation from high school, Natalie dropped the Catholic faith, because of doubts about the infallibility of the Pope, and a lack of conviction about original sin and the requirement of baptism for infants and children. Ten years later, seeming to come full-circle, Natalie again returned to Christianity, though not to Catholicism. For the next 5 years, Natalie was what some people might call a “super Christian”. She studied the Bible, and really tried to make it a part of her life, in spite of lingering doubts about original sin and the apparent contradictions in the teachings of Paul.

Natalie was led to Islam by a comment made by the preacher at the church she was a member of. (Thanks Hal!) The comment prompted her to read and study the Quran, and with this study, she became convinced, and on December 31, 2004, Natalie said Shehada in her local Islamic center.

Natalie’s primary areas of study right now are Islamic history, and important personalities in Islamic history. She is also attempting to learn Arabic, inshAllah. As a Civil Engineer and mother, Natalie finds that there really isn’t much time for other activities, but enjoys camping and hiking, and other outdoor leisure, and would like to take her children for these activities someday, inshAllah. For now, Natalie spends most of her nonworking time learning about Islam.

Brother Ahmed comes to us from the UK but is originally from Iraq. He was born in the year 1973. We are so grateful to Ahmed for his constant support on the RMA fourm and his moderation of our ‘match-up’ area.

Ahmed has a deep respect for reverts as he appreciates their struggle and constant quest for the truth in Islam. He reminds reverts that they will be rewarded for their difficulties and the rejection they so often feel from their non-Muslim friends and family members only to walk the true path of righteousness that is Islam.

Ahmed quotes the Qur’an:

29:69 And those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily Allah is with those who do right.

Brother Ahmed also likes to remind us that the Qur’an points to the greatness of marriage as it does in the following ayat.

30:21 "Among His proofs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, in order to have tranquility and contentment with each other, and He placed in your hearts love and care towards your spouses. In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think. "

Brother Ahmed is there to support those who are interested in marriage and the rules and regulations behind the process of Nikah and or Mutah contracts. We thank him for all his efforts.
