The Woman
by Ayatollah Sayed Mohammad Taghi Al-Modarresi

Primitive
and modern ignorance have an identical look into the woman: Pessimism
and humiliation. However, their methods of treatment are different.
(The Woman Between Daily Tasks and Missionary Responsibilities, P.11)
In my view, the woman is the pillar in life's tent. She is that axis
the family spins around, its members are attracted to, and the one it
is familiar with and formed by. (The Woman Between Daily Tasks and
Missionary Responsibilities, P. 14)
The woman has the ability to perform activities in harmony with her
physical structure, spiritual and sentimental attributes, and in the
limit of preserving her chastity. (The Woman Between Daily Tasks and
Missionary Responsibilities, P. 14)
Our position toward the woman should rise from our loyalty to Fatemah
A-Zahra, so should our knowledge of the house of mission and the
Mohammedan tree, which should remain and continue to the Day of
Resurrection. Our position toward this great lady is that of ours
toward the contemporary woman. In the same manner, our attention to
Fatemah has a reflection on our attention to the woman. (The Woman
Between Daily Tasks and Missionary Responsibilities, P. 19)
Men's view of the woman should be positive so that no right of her is
wasted. Likewise, women's responsibility is not to look contemptuously
into themselves because when they see that Allah had sent all His
prophets from among men they become heavyhearted. However, Allah had
not ignored their principal role and had selected from among them good
examples such as Maryam/Mary whom He made the first lady in her time;
the pure righteous A-Zahra whom He made the world's first lady; lady
Zaynab, the Commander of the Faithful's sister; lady Khadija Bint
Khowailed, and A'siya Bint Mozahim are also within this group. (The
Woman Between Daily Tasks and Missionary Responsibilities, PP. 19-20)
Islam believes that women's and men's responsibilities are alike.
Therefore, it addresses them equally, and says O people, or O those
who have believed. It is obvious that the words people and those who
have believed include both the male and female. (The Woman Between
Daily Tasks and Missionary Responsibilities, P.32)
Wearing the Islamic Hijab/veil is both a duty and must. However it is
neither an obstacle to women, nor hinders them from activity and
participation, and contribution. (The Woman Between Daily Tasks and
Missionary Responsibilities, P.39)
Women have no exemption whatsoever against their negligence toward
their divine duties. (The Woman Between Daily Tasks and Missionary
Responsibilities P. 47)
The women's responsibilities in today's society are far more important
and critical than those of the scholars, orators, and social figures.
For, the astray and deviated regimes, and their ignorant supporters
and protectors among the Westerners have not left us anything. The
satanic plans and methods have overwhelmed everything, and only the
family is left for us, that which, too, they intend to confiscate and
seize. (The Woman Between Daily Tasks and Missionary Responsibilities,
P. 9)
