WELCOME TO REVERT MUSLIMS
RMA,
The Revert Muslim website and forum has come into
existence due to the on-going needs of new ‘western’
converts/reverts to Islam. Each year there are thousands
of new ‘western’ converts who come into Islam
unaware of how to practice their faith effectively and
with little support. They go out into the community of
Muslims but often times feel alienated due to cultural
differences.
The
second-largest religion in the world after Christianity,
Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the
United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the
more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12
years.
Some
scholars see an emerging Muslim renaissance as Islam
takes root in many traditionally Christian communities.
They note that the extremists are a very small minority
in Islam and that most Muslims adhere to principles in
the Quran that teach peace and tolerance.
Revert
Muslims welcomes in all new converts and all others who
wish to contribute to our community. We wish to promote
peace and unity within our diverse group.
How
do we wish to meet the needs of these individuals?:
We
currently offer e-mail, on-line forum and live messenger support,
materials for the new convert/revert such as
‘Qu’ran, Islamic literature, Turbah, Islamic prayer
matt and hijabs and abayas for the ladies. We have understanding
Muslims available to witness (on-line) shahada
(testimony of faith) and they can then advise our new
reverts as to they’re nearest Mosque and community of
Muslims.
We
understand that to hand out such items could be costly.
Our hope is that we can begin to stockpile used-items so
that the expense of new-items is eliminated. We are
currently receiving a good amount of clothing and
Islamic items donated regularly and we are prepared to

Our
long term goals are to hold the annual International
Revert Conference so that those new Muslims can find
support, resources and communicate directly to others
they can relate to. We plan to have seminars throughout
the year to help promote our Association and bring
people together with helpful lectures and key note
speakers. Eventually the RMA would like to see
community centres built to help bring these new Muslims
together and to help break the barriers of cultural
differences. Islam is for everyone and this is a major
point of thought for RMA members.
Our
caring team of Muslim men and women:
We
have a growing team of caring, understanding and pious
volunteers who come together to brainstorm and find the
available resources and materials that our new reverts
find necessary.
We
understand the needs of new reverts because many of us
ARE reverts. We are sincere in our goals and wishes for
these new souls who enter into Islam.
We
wish to help guide them to the truth.
